...be sure to wear flowers in your hair.
I admit it. In my heart I am a certified tied dyed in Rit hippie. And I know that I missed everything that was happening by 3 lousy years ( I was only 13 when everyone went to Yasgur's Farm) ...and now I've likely been "co-opted by the Man"...
But hey - like I always say "Better late than never".
... And so we return to San Francisco. I missed SF in the 60's and 70's, and now I'm going as a tourist. I will see the Citylights Bookstore. I will buy my children Trip Trap - Haiku on the Road. They will roll their eyes with the silent reaffirmation that their mother has lost her mind. I will give my mother Leonard Cohen's Book of Mercy and she will know I am still grounded.
We have a full agenda. Chinatown, Golden Gate Bridge. The SF Museum of Modern Art. The Museum of Fine Craft.
We will eat - lots.
We will walk - miles.
We will take pictures.
We will shop. Pawnshop Sally is home now and I have a few patterns waiting for fabric. My hotel room is a few short blocks from the best fabric store in the whole world...
I'll keep you posted...
