In Calgary we have a huge circle of statues downtown called "The Family of Man". This isn't really about that. This is about how a few years back someone had knit them up leggings and the like - and it seems that everyone knew about it - except me. I only found out about it (too late) while perusing someone else's blog. Some one who was visiting and saw it.
So this blog is about something cool and funky and fibre-y - that I haven't missed. A few weeks back I was crossing one of Calgary's many bridges and was intrigued to see that the bridge was adorned with banners. Big gorgeous, textural banners. I was quite taken with the thought that our city had such stuff. This morning I have discovered - as I surf in and around blogland that we have 7 bridges that have been selected for fibre art installation. Learn more here: Bridge Work. If you live in Calgary the bridges are fairly close and the weather is spectacular this weekend. Get out your walkers, snack and camera - and go for it!
